Luminoso Expands Product Leadership with Two New Hires

BOSTON, October, 20, 2020 — Luminoso, the company that turns unstructured text data into business critical insights, today announced that it has added two employees to the company’s product leadership team. Satoshi Asari has joined Luminoso as senior product manager, and Marleigh Norton as principal product designer. Together, they will be responsible for leading the product design and management of the next generation of Luminoso’s text analytics applications.

“As Luminoso continues to grow, it’s critical that we bring on product managers and designers who have demonstrated success scaling teams, and building applications that customers love using,” said Adam Carte, CEO of Luminoso. “Asari’s and Norton’s work at some of the world’s most innovative organizations over the last two decades has shown that they both consistently perform at the highest levels of their respective fields.”

Asari brings two decades of product management experience to Luminoso. He previously served as director of product management for Monotype, a publicly-traded font and technology company. There, he collaborated with cross-functional teams to identify high-growth opportunities and deliver effective solutions to customer challenges. Accomplishments included generating more than $3M annual revenue through the development of a new mobile end-user product, boosting revenue 20% in one year by transforming a B2B application into a high-growth software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering, and improving SaaS product reliability to exceed the targeted 99.9% service level agreements (SLA). Prior to Montotype, Asari was product manager at Zoran Corp, where he led the development and launch of three new semiconductor products. Asari studied at MIT, where he received both a Master’s of Engineering and a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Norton has more than 20 years of experience working in user experience design across a range of industries. She was previously an immersion experience designer at the IBM Watson Health Client Engagement Center. There, she designed 3D effects and gesture interactions for large screens in interactive rooms, and designed user interfaces that were both medically accurate and accessible to non-medical viewers. Prior to IBM, Norton was the principal 3D interaction designer for zSpace 3D, where she designed new interaction methodologies for innovative head tracked, stereoscopic 3D displays. Additional roles included interaction design director for the MIT Game Lab, user experience specialist at NASA, and usability research assistant at Verizon Laboratories. Norton received her Masters of Science from Georgia Tech, and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Film & Media Studies from MIT.
